anxious!

this weekend I am traveling to Utah all by myself.
I feel like I should be writing this post in CAPS because I am that EXCITED!
I have dreamed about going for the past few nights and I cant wait.
NOT that I wouldn't love to take all my kiddos....because I would. I do it often and its a blast.
But, I have to say...it will be strange, nice, weird, super fun....to have a morning to sleep in or not!
I am slightly nervous for my lovie...NOT that he can't handle it...because he can.
But...you know how it goes! Just me not being there to be the mom is gonna be different.

Well, Utah in 2 days!
yippee..

ps special thanks to Nic for finding me a super cheap ticket to get there.
and to Mimi for taking the spot of the mom while my lovie is at work!
couldn't do it without cha!

monsoon

We have had some of the most amazing Monsoon's this year. I have never in my life seen some of the electric storms like we have had over the past month. It's so cool to watch.

this particular day the thunder and lightening were especially close and extremely loud. I walked outside thinking it had past and before I could grab my teeth and get back inside, I watch a flash and a 1/2 second later felt the boom. It scared me and Memphis something good.

sorry you missed it!

kip & nap

I think this is one of the funniest pictures I have seen in a while. Espeically if you know these two boys.
It reminded me of something that
Napoleon and Kip
would of done.
So funny!

Doesn't that guy in the back look slightly mischievous?
 in the cutest way?

strike a pose

We were doing a bit of school shopping and
walked out of the Nike store.
I turned around to see Mr. Creams in the display window
and then of course Mr. Cedar had to join in.
I told them to freeze so I could get a photo.
What cuties!

We are Here! We are Here!

People, we are in a fight for our lives and our beliefs.
Well, for those who believe the way I do.

I am so concerned with not being heard. Even though we are the majority vote on numerous items that I have been following lately.  I sometimes feel like the whos, in Horton hears a Who. The people on that speck of dirt are screaming to be heard and only Horton can hear them. Then comes that big bad purple kangaroo and says "it doesn't matter, it's not the way it's suppose to be", even though everyone else knows it's right.

I have been keeping my ears peeled lately in regards to the PROP 8 deal in California, the SB 1070 here in AZ, the mosque situation in NYC and the Health Bill for the Country. And, all the other things that are being supported by the majority but for some reason or another get over turned because one person says 'it just wouldn't be right". I don't pretend to be so versed in Politics, I just know what I believe and what I see and hear around me. And to me...it's crazy!

IT infuriates me that most of AZ support having our borders protected, actually most the country support having our borders protected, YET....it's shot down! Or it's put on hold so that some aren't offended.
I am offended and the side I am on is the majority...so why isn't it being heard?
I am in the mind set that if I get pulled over in a car and have done something illegal...you better believe I will get a ticket or possibly sent to jail. Why is it that when you cross a border and it's considered illegal and but if you DON"T get caught it's all GOOD.
I have lived over the southern border and know that if you want to work you carry your documentation or your kicked out! I know that! We had frequent visits from the Mexican/American Consulate to verify all paperwork. I also know that I have been stopped, over charged, questioned for no reason, stole from because the color of my skin. I know some of you that read this might roll your eyes at that last sentence....but it's very true and my friend that were local would admit that. I know it's not right, but it happens...therefore you either deal with it or you move. So, we dealt with it by having our work visa and having our US passports and paying taxes every paycheck and having insurance on our cars in the US and in Mexico. And we dealt with it by paying all 300+ employees the right way through their banking systems and filing with their tax people and paying their "surprise" fees that were different every time you turn around. We were legit and then after 6 years STILL got forced out. And when I mean forced out....I am talking about by 70+ men and woman with guns strapped to them and them holding my husband and close friends behind doors for 48 hrs without a call to see if all was well....even with the right documentation.
That is a long story for another day!
But the point is....I don't like the way I was treated, I don't want that to happen to anyone here in the states. But you gotta be legal!
So maybe we make it easier to become a citizen of the US. I have a friend that applied 2 times to become a citizen. My friend is highly educated and has highly educated parents. When she finally got her answer it was thought that she was only coming here to become a prostitute. So, now she lives here illegally. Maybe, we make it less of a pain to do it the right way. I am not against people coming here to find a new life! I wouldn't be here if that was the case. My ancestors all came across the waters to America.
But we  Can't over look something that's illegal, just because we might offend. Believe me when I say that I am NOT encompassing all that live south of the border to be crooks, dishonest or an any way doing anything bad or illegal. I have numerous friends that are WONDERFUL people that still live there and I miss them daily. I just can't agree with someone using anothers SSN to cross the border just because.

With Prop 8...again the majority voted and won. NOW...someone has been offended and again it's in the air. Why is the majority of the people not being taken serious? Someone close to me said "why shouldn't they have a right to be married it's like holding a library card". I say "WHAT the H?"
It goes way beyond the right of a person.
Let's say it is their right for conversation purposes...what happens to my rights then? You may ask how my rights would be violated?
HEAR ME OUT:

Their right to be married as a gay person and live that type of perversion, which I believe it is,  is going to say that it's accepted and it's normal.
Then, It's going to say that it's normal & okay and so now we can teach it in school to my children.
It's going to say that its accepted and normal and therefore sin it accepted and normal.

I teach my children what I believe is right. I just DO NOT want my children to be forced into having to learn about it from someone other than me and my husband.
I just don't buy it!
They can be gay, but I can't Pray? Hmmm! interesting.
I have a family member that is gay and I can promise you that this lifestyle has only brought heartache, pain and sickness. I love him and know that he loves us. I feel so sorry for him because he will never understand true happiness. The happiness that comes with having a family of his own.
It's not normal and them having that right is offending me.

But...offending the majority is what is happening lately. The people that are overturning all the majority votes aren't wanting to offend the minority. It's crazy. It's like the people have spoken but there is nobody listening. OR, "they" listen for a bit to make us happy and then pull the rug out from underneath us to make whom ever didn't vote that way feel all warm and cozy.

I heard, on the radio, some man saying to another that all of these people that are fighting the prop 8 and the mosque being built and the immigration issue...they are all doing this out of Fear. This man tried to make it seem like it's a phobia type thing or a bad thing.
I say....I am doing this out of FEAR.
I fear for my Freedoms, my children, my safety.
Is that a problem?
Why is us being fearful for our American way of life that is dwindling from underneath us a bad thing?

I have heard of this "being" that tells one person all that they want to hear and more. He promises them the moon and the stars. And then turns around and stabs them in the back to save face with another.
Sound Familiar to anyone that knows the story of, dare I say.... Satan?
did I go a little far there?

I guess it might be time to offend in order to defend!

what do you think?

butt on fire

Last night at 12:10am I was sound asleep minding my own business when I was jumped out of bed surprised when the bottom of my back and top of my bottom felt like it was being lit on fire. It woke me up and sent me running to the bathroom, but not before 3 more fires were lit on my bottom and 1 more on my ring finger.
I woke Lukey up and he instantly started looking for whatever it was. We were both so tired and were in a half glazed over state from being so suddenly woke up.
If felt like a dream or Nightmare.
I couldn't believe it...I had been stung by a scorpion.
NOT the Scorpion KING, Mr. Dwayne Johnson...but an actually little devilish scorpion.

Which I still haven't found.

Today my mouth, jaw, lips and throat have been numb. My ring finger is still numb from the tip to the knuckle on my hand. My neck is stiff. I got the chills and my bottom dollar is sore and burns. Honestly like someone blew out a match and stuck it right to my back side.

YES, it hurts like a mug.

MR. Dwayne Johnson....
I'd rather be bitten by you....on the finger, of course!

bug off

Today I was reminded of a time, not so long ago, that I stood out on my back porch in Blue Ridge Ga. I was standing with my girls just painting and visiting with them and must of been talking to much...when a bug or fly flew right in my mouth and down my throat. I couldn't believe it. I gasp coughing, trying to get it to come back out and be free, back the fresh air that it knew and loved so much. But to no avail,  I had just swallowed a fly, I dont' know why I swallowed the fly...perhaps I'll die. OKAY, i got carried away just now.

Today as I was preparing my lunch, which just happened to be a salad with yummy "green goddess" dressing, which has lots of black little seasonings in it. I noticed a little gnat flying around my bowl. I shooed it away and it came right back. I swatted at it and, I think, but am not sure, that it fell outside my bowl. I could be wrong, and probably am, but I am gonna think that I didn't eat it today....which I am sure I did.

What is it with me and eating bugs? especially after seeing this photo...SICK!

PS I love celery but the smell stays on your hands FOREVER! oooh oowheey, what's up with that?

San Diego Trip

OH.. San Diego...I LOVE YOU!

Last weekend we made a fast, exciting, wonderful...did I mention Fast? trip to the Juan Deigo. It was such a good time.
The weather was amazing....mid 60's all day long.
That is the weather I was born to live in.
LOVED IT!

We got into town mid morning on Friday....
12pm...Hit Pacific Beach for a few hours. Froze in the water. Once you lost all feeling in your legs and hips...the water was Perfecto. We made sand castles, buried Shelb's in the sand, collected seaweed, watched the surfers and enjoyed watching lil' Guy & Muscles & Cedar on the beach for the first time.

5pm....Hit a San Diego Padres game with the kids. What a blast. The kids had a great time, even though the game was pretty long. I had to take all the ninos to the top of the stadium for a "stretch your bones" walk at the top of the 4th inning. The mom and daughter sitting next to us had season tickets and got loads of free things...so they shared their SD tattoos with all the kids.

Saturday morn:
9am...of course...B-fast at KONOS on the Pacific Beach boardwalk. We don't go to San Diego without treating ourselves to a plate of kono's pancakes, eggs and taters.

11am...Hit Sea World with the other million people that were there. It was packed, but still such a good time. We watched the fireworks at 9:30pm while sharing a bag of cotton candy. We stayed till they closed and then drove as far as our eyelids would allow. Finally at 1am we found the nearest hotel and then Sunday morn, we headed out again.

See...I said fast and I meant it!
To fast....I need to go back....yesterday.

A year later!

My baby turned 1 year old, just last week.
It's a great feeling and also...so emotional for me. I feel like that time in my life as come and I am trying hard to embrace it with open arms. It's the time in my life that I am no longer baring children...but now I am raising them. I know I have 4 other little babies to raise...but there was always that next baby to go through the pregnancy stage and the nursing stage and the diaper stage. We are past a few of those and moving on to others very quickly.
It's pretty exciting!

Yes.....it's true My little baby is growing up.

The camel's back was broken tonight!

I am exhausted to tonight but my mind won't stop going.

Last year I was in the middle of a book and that book that I was reading had been super good and I had been enjoying that book...until this one part happened. It disturbed me, it offended my Spirit. It ruined my day and the rest of my week. I really let it get to me and should of just let it go. I remember how I felt for the next few weeks...like a dark cloud was hanging over my head. Not that I was grumpy or felt in the dumps, but that Satan was on my heels for some reason. I was reminded that Satan wants us so bad. I was feeling very close to the Spirit so maybe that's why Satan was also very much there.
The past month has been sort of like that for me. It's like when you really try to do better, be better, think better, act better, talk better and Satan is there to put a bit of a damper on that good feeling that comes along with choosing the right.

A month ago, I took my children to the swimming pool here in our area. I have to admit...going to the pool most of the time is like attending a Sport Illustrated Swimsuit shoot. There are ladies all over the place that are in their teeny tiny bikini's with their "selves" hanging out. When my kids were younger, it didn't effect me as much, actually I don't really remember noticing much.
NOW...my girls make comments and then there are my little innocent boys that see these people dressed immodest. It's very hard to keep my children's attention on something else, when you have to walk by it to your chair. What's really getting my goat is little girls, I am talking 5yrs to 18 yr old girls in teeny tiny swimsuits. For the longest time I didn't think much of it, until last month when my daughter and her friend were walking along the side of the pool.
My daughter is very modest and her friend is as well....but this day her friend had a bikini on, that she was a bit uncomfortable in, I thought. Well, I sat on the chairs under the umbrellas, keeping quiet and just watching my oldest girl and her pal walk by talking, laughing and having a great time. That's when I had an eye opening, humbling, sickening experience.
As I sat there watching these two beautiful young girls walk by, I watched how some of the teenage  boy lifeguards watched them walk by. I was sick. I thought...if those boys are looking at those girls like that....what about those old perverted men. YUCK!
After swimming I made a point to have an open conversation with all my kids about being modest and how we want people to see us.
Oh...if they could only stay Young forever.

Then, a week or so later, I took my kids to a different pool. A pool that is closer to the house and much quieter. It's more of a family pool and just our style. While there I watched this very young couple...maybe 16 or 17 yrs old come into the pool area. They walked our way and get a seat right next to us and start making out on the chairs. I was so offended and my kids just sat there and pointed. I was embarrassed for my family. I sat and got so mad that I had to do it....
I told the lifeguard to ask them to stop or leave. By then...it started to rain and so I collected my children and went home.
I couldn't stop thinking about that Young girl and how she was being seen by the on looker. I felt bad for her mother that didn't know that her young daughter was down at the local pool in this littlest swimsuit, with her boyfriends hands all over her...making out. I felt bad for my own family that we has to see that. It's not that kissing in public is bad or EVIL. It's that these are young kids and it was more that just a small kiss.

My friend is in young woman's in our ward and during a conversation just the other day she told a group of us mothers that the young girls now a days have very low self worth. The ones that you think are the strongest are the ones that say they can't look in the mirror at themselves because they don't like what they see. It broke my heart.

So here comes the straw that broke the camels' back.

Tonight , again while at the pool with my kids, we all swam amd were having having a good time.
For some reason my attention was drawn to a couple on the left of me sneaking a kiss every once in a while....and then a couple on my right side of me were making out.
I don't know why but my attention kept going to this young couple on my left. I guess it was the fact that while they were closer to where I was sitting,  the young guy said to his girlfriend "why you being such a moron?"
It took me back for a second and I had to really think hard if I really heard him say that to her. So, I watched closer and listened better. I kept watching him drag her under the water while holding her arms under his. When they would surface she would say "let me go" very quietly and then he would drag her back under that water. He would try to kiss her and she would turn her head and then he would drag her back under again. I thought maybe they were playing for a minute until I saw her come up and push his face away with her hand. He didn't let go and then said another very offensive comment to her and took her back under the water, this being maybe the 10th time.
That was it for me....I had been fuming for some time and needed just the right person to
release the Cracken on.
I made sure my kids were all okay and started over to that young couple. On my way there I could see she was trying to get loose from him...not fighting, but trying to get her arms freed and then he took her under again. I got about 10 feet away and yelled at him to "let her go". He turned and looked at me, while holding her under and then she surfaced. I don't think he was trying to drowned her, but he was for sure trying to make a point that he was in charge....and that's what made me anger.
Finally he looked at me and saw me standing over him on the edge of the pool.
I said "DUDE, LET HER GO, LEAVE HER ALONE". And his response is so maddening....he said to me "she's my girlfriend".  In my mind I thought..."OH, so that makes this all okay. Okay, go ahead and treat that other human being like that....because she is your girlfriend".
I got down closer to his face so I could see him better and said "I don't care who she is to you, LEAVE HER ALONE. I have been watching you drag her under the water and call her names, BE DONE".
I couldn't believe what I was watching as I was talking to them, he just kept looking at her saying "I love you, sorry, I love you". I just about grabbed him by his hair and shook him...and then do the same thing to her. I got even closer, right down to the edge of the pool so I could see her eyes and asked her if she wanted me to walk her to her car or do something to help her. She look at me and said "no, but thanks." I knew I needed to be done, but just couldn't be...I told her to walk away for 5 or so minutes and take a break from one another, but this wasn't acceptable and he shouldn't be treating her that way. THEN I walked off saying something else like "DUDE, let her be by herself for a minute and if he didn't leave her alone. I am sure there were plenty of people here at the pool that would back me up in helping her."
WHAT WAS I THINKING, volunteering people I don't know to help me?
I went to my chair and counted my children and then just watched. I saw her swim across the pool with out him, get out, dry off and get ready to leave...and then he followed her. I walked over to the lifeguard and asked him to follow them to their car to make sure she was safe..so he did. When get came back in the pool he informed me of a brief conversation that he had them the boyfriend. The lifeguard told the boyfriend to not use such offensive language in the pool around the kids. I was happy that he was trying to protect my kids...but it was like he was saying "IT"S OKAY if you call your girlfriend names, just don't do it in PUBLIC".

AARRRGGG! What is wrong with people these days?
What is it with young girls and allowing boys to treat them like that? I don't understand it?
I am sick and wish I knew what happened or what is going on with that girl.

So...my mind goes back to all of these different things that are happening in my life. My mind instantly goes to my 2 girls and 3 boys and how we are all effected by other peoples choices. We might not be physically effected....but their minds are effected. I know I can't stop the world from happening and my children from being exposed to it...but I can be the MOM that they see standing up for the right choice. I can try hard to teach them how to make a good choice, a better choice.
I love being surrounded by good family and good friends and people that strive to do the same thing as us...do better.

I need to go say my prayers and try to clear my brain.
Kiss your kids extra long tonight!

Our True Identity

I thought this was a wonderful reminder, especially now when most the world looks to Hollywood as their guide to being important or not.
I love this and love when he reminds us of who we really are...
.listen and enjoy and then pass it on!
