I have to fill my Utah hunger every few months and on this trip Luke got to fill his, which made the trip so much better.
Friday 13th we left around 2pm arriving at my parents home at about midnight their time. The kids were all snoring soundly in the back of the car which made for a nice peaceful visit for Luke and I. We were both so exhausted... our tiredness kept each other awake. You know when you don't make much sense, so it's funny!
This trip was such a good time. We were able to see everyone of my siblings except my little bro and his family.
We (my bro's, sisters and their spouses) all got sitters and played v-ball on Saturday night from 9pm till midnight. Which was a blast, exhausting, but a blast! It was fun to just be active and laugh with my family and to see that the competitiveness hasn't died within our old bodies.
We had a dinner for all the birthdays this month at my parent house on Sunday and to remember Uncle Daniel. My grandma and Jay were in attendance, which was great. It's been a while since I have seen either one of them. the food was great and of course the company is better.
We were able to run over to Uncle Bret's and Aunt Lisa's home for a few hours. It is always a great time there. I love that we can just sit and visit and there is always something to talk about.
we were able to see Uncle Steele (luke's bro) at work, which was a highlight for all the kids, especially Carter that got to ride the forklift...OH and don't let me forget Luke that got to drive.
That was one of the funniest things I have seen in a while. My grown up husband, his grown up brother and how their looks/expressions regressed to a much younger time in their lives as they drove off on this forklift. I literally laughed out loud at the two "boys".
HOWEVER, the funniest part of that visit was when Steele was doing donuts in the parking lot ON the forklift. So funny! I know to some that is so not funny...
but for me and my house..we will crack up every time!
we were also able to see aunt Amy and little abi for a bit. Not nearly long enough!
We were able to see snow canyon in all it's glory! My family and my bro's family took a few hours to get a smallish walk in for the kids and ME! We did a simple walk to the top of this hill that over looks all of snow canyon. LOVED IT!!
we were able to have a dinner out with most of my family...minus sis, dusk and Nic. (next time)
And lastly...we were able to play play play with cousins. They could not get enough of each other with just about 24 hours of continual playing going on. i have to mention that there are 4 girls born within one year of each other and then two more girls born 2 years later....they all have a blast.
Once we returned to aZ...it was swim swim swim at the pool. we tried our hardest to stay away from work.
now it's back to school, work, cleaning, homework, laundry and life.
which is also very enjoyable.
