my kings

My boys and their imaginations!
Mr. Creed found this Ranch Dressing wrapper and decided that's all he needed to make himself KING! Once Creed was king, Carter decided that he needed something as well. He found one of my pieces of vinyl that was in the scrap box and instantly it was his crown.
OH...how about those yellow glasses that Creed has?
Outstanding!

mission confirmed

My parents sent in their mission call over 2 months ago and for some reason or another their call was delayed.

They waited week after week with such anticipation but to much disappointment it didnt' come. So, they decided to take a last minute trip to France with my brother and sister-in-law. While they were there...of course it came.

It sat in their box until my sis went and got it, looked at it and we contemplated steaming the envelope open to find the location and date they would leave.

The waiting was killing me!

Finally they got home and they called me:

The got called to the Apia, Western Samoa Mission and will leave Dec 27th to work at the Church owned school with the Teachers!

Better start saving my money to go visit in 1.5 years.

story of my morning

Why we should always be kind to our children,
especially right before they go to school.....

Today in shelby's parent teachers conf. I read an assignment that she was asked to do. She was asked to write about how she starts her day every morning. She was to give 3 or 4 items that she does before arriving at school.
One was: "I get up and get dressed"
two was: "I wash my face"
Three was: "My mom brushes my hair into a ponytail when I eat bfast"
four was: "I am always the last one out the door, My dad always gets mad at me"
Five was: "I cry"

I had to laugh out loud in front of her teacher....this is exactly what happens.
I got off easy...it's not always LUke that get's mad.

so funny.
I really wonder how much of our lives are private when it comes to having children in school.

YIKES!

we fell for fall

Fall Break was just a blast.
Oh, the things we did!
Oh, the fun we had!
Wish we could do it again!

Monday
went swimming in 95 degree weather

Tuesday
Reid Park Zoo
this park isn't huge, so we were in and out, with lots of lolly gag'n and mess'n around in 3 hrs.
I thought it was so funny to see the kids different personalities with these snoopy cutouts.
Shelby & Carter wanted a picture by everyone of them. (hams)
Creed was more reserved, infact if you look closely you can see him peeking through the crack in the big pumpkin. (totally him)
Lainie is not even interested and is worrying that her littlest bro is too far away from his mother in the stroller resting in the shade. (totally her)

Wednesday
Boys go swimming with their friend (thanks emily)
Girls have a spur of the moment cookie decorating party with a few neighbor friends

Thursday
We had another pool party with the Chapple clan.
My oldest 4 are just about the same age as their oldest 4...so it works out great!

Friday
Off to Mtn. Lemmon for our first family camping trip.
-once there we set up camp, which I think is almost the best part.
-took a hike to a lookout where you could see Tucson. Mr. Creed had on some real doozer of shoes and he kept complaining that his feet were bruised and he couldn't walk anymore. while on our hike we listened to a storm coming in threatening our fun campout. We walked quickly back to camp and put what we didn't want wet away and then headed into Summerhaven for an outing. In town we watched the clouds get darker and darker and the wind pick up and the temp drop. We just decided we would just surrender to the world and see what we could get ourselves into. We found this Crepe trailer! It was the best on a cold day. We had Nutella & banana's on warm yummy Crepes...so good!
Once we returned to camp..we realized it had rained...but not on our camp! we were blessed!
-Luke prepared the most delicious dinner (dutch over potatoes and chicken). we roasted marshmellows and visited around the fire.
-While everyone else slept, I read! (so much fun reading in a tent with a head lamp, your nose is cold, but your covered in a mummy bag from head to toe)

Saturday
-another hiking adventure to find fallen trees to walk on. Luke and the girls found 2 and so a bit later the boys had to go check them out. While there...we walked across the trees and fell off the trees and found a rope swing to swing from the trees.
-Luke made another scrupmtious breakfast before we packed up and headed home. Because I read the night before for quite a while, I don't remember much of the drive home...I was WAY tired!

-we got invited to go to a pumpkin patch with the Chapple family again. After a hay ride, Straw maze, petting zoo, ridiculously delicious onion rings & burgers, great company, a outside movie...we called it a day and went home to pass out!

only from Utah!

Don't you love it when your husband makes a sudden trip to S. Utah
and comes home with a box of these?

And then they turn into this?
(with a bit of help)

oh baby!
They are a thing of beautiful!

I am no longer my lovers elder

It came...my lovies birthday finally arrived and went. We are back to being the same age.

A special thanks goes to my mother-in-law for coming to the rescue and taking over the mother position so I could take my sweetie to a movie marathon.

We were able to have brunch, see 2 movies and get sickly off so much popcorn and candy.

Great Day!

Love you Lovie!

calcetines

This morning as I got dressed to go play vball at the church, I was super excited to wear my brand new socks...that actually matched.
I know that seems strange. Not the mismatching socks, but that I was excited to wear my new ones. It's a very rare event when I get new socks. It's just not an item on my list of important things to buy.

For One....my feet love to be free of any restrictions. They love to breath the fresh air and be chilled on a cool day and sweat free on a hot day.
For Two....my feet rarely have shoes on them...so socks are just a silly thing to buy.

However, when I do wear socks....I am slightly picky. I want thinner, tight fitting (but not too tight) socks that will hug my feet and make them feel all safe and loved. So loved, that they will forget that they are covered and being hot. ya catch my drift?

Well after vball I was feeling sad...sad that I have these new, perfect matching socks that I have worn and got dirty and will probably never see again as a cute little pair. I was wondering how could I save these two socks from the future of being alone? With a box like below...the future was looking bleak. P.s. thanks mimi for matching all the socks you could find.

Well I started thinking about my sweet dear husband and one of his loves in life....he loves to buy socks.
The tattle-tail in me started showing it's ugly head so I had to take a photo of my lovers sock box...that only belongs to him. Take a gander....

if you can guess the number of socks in this box...you will win a prize.

I won't count the small box of church socks that he has in the top of the closet that has over 20 pairs in it. Or the plastic bag of socks that is behind his truck seat...for emergency purposes and for boot wearing days.
Here are my socks.

I suppose the solution to having matching socks is to just keep buying them.
anyone got a solution that might be less expensive?
